The application is lightweight and it is quite easy to use. Its straight forward controls layout can help even novice users get the information they need.

The application is available for all popular Windows platforms and it is absolutely free. It comes in a small package and it can be installed quickly and effortlessly. Due to the modest hardware requirements, the application can be used even on obsolete machines. Also, there is no need to install any prerequisite tools.

In terms of layout, the main user interface is similar to a standard Explorer window. You can browse through partitions and folders in a tree structure, on the left side of the window and view their contents in the larger area on the right. Of course, the application provides you with more than what you can find in Windows Explorer.

All you have to do is access a partition or folder and the application will start analyzing automatically. One of the first things you will notice is that MeinPlatz provides a vast amount of information, in a series of columns, for each file and folder. Besides size and path, the information includes the number of contained items, a percentage for disk usage and much more.

When you select a partition or a folder, the application will calculate the disk usage for the selected item. If you wish to see the largest items in a specific folder, you can right click it and select the appropriate option to scan it.
